OK. Have not heard from Nicko.

Maybe this is a game for when he's not there?

In any case, we'll keep this for when Chaddy & Sal are present. So no need for separate story line for their PCs. Will need a PC for Aido if he is present. Probably rather he take a spare if we have one rather than a new PC.

However, so he can create a PC and we kick off at low levels, I will be starting a separate 5E game - I will talk about that at Connors Campaigns under the Ballarat Games Forum, as it will have nothing to do with Golarion.

I would like to start a new campaign, level 1 as I have not played 5th Edition yet and want to see how it runs, very keen in fact to see how it relates to previous editions.
Still happy to have a higher lvl pc to join in with Chaddy and Sal when they want to play the other campaign, but would also like a new one with some good ole fashioned villains, orcs, goblins, lizardmen etc. Standard dungeon crawl would be great to start out with!

Um, Aido, you did not answer the main Q. Plz see 1st post.

New game for 5E or this one?

I'm keen to see how 5E works, so if needed I could work at creating a new character. Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you guys on this, mostly slackness on my part, but there has been a bit on my mind, that aside as excuses are the language of apathy, I'm keen to either bring in a new pc or to use a pc for any players that may not be playing. Depending on the weekend that it is scheduled for also, as some weekends I am booked out.
Thanks for your patience Connors, sorry again.

Oh, we were only looking to do that if you were not there. If you are going to make it, I'd say we would cont' this. PPl just wanted a 5E game, so deciding whether to go new or cont this without you. If you make it we will play this.

Was just going to be hard to bring your PCs in and out. But anything possible ;) Great to hear from you. I passed through Geelong (on bus to Melb) other week and was thinking of you guys. Say hello to Sal. Hope bubs is doing well :)

Hey Guys,

Been a while! Things are settling down a bit and Sal's parents are back in Aus for a while so they can babysit. So we should both be able to make the next game. I'm happy either way, if people want to start a new campaign or not.

Re: New Beginnings by ChaddyChaddy, 19 Jul 2017 10:27

So we are sitting at 1 and 1 at this stage. (Blair posted to continue under "Starting New Game" which confuses the forum).

Awaiting thts from Nicko and Aido really. (If Nicko wants to play a 5E game)?

What Arkin & Kathra do is not a problem. I have many options.

What I can say is that coming adventures vary by 100s of miles. Could run whole campaigns just getting people b/w adventures.

(This is posted under the Post "Starting a New Game BTW". (Again, wondering how people are accessing these forums rather than looking at actual forum).

Re: Starting a New Game by ConnorsConnors, 22 Jun 2017 12:03

I'd like to keep going with this campaign, for a few reasons:

a) these are the highest level characters I can recall us ever having, and I'm curious to see how they work at higher levels,
b) I'm curious to see how this all works out (assuming we make it that far),
c) we have spent a bit of money on getting things like miniatures. It's be nice to get as much value from them as we can.

I like the idea of retiring Sal and Chaddy's characters. Another option, instead of sending them all the way back to Janderhoff, is that they might choose to stay in Sandpoint to help rebuild the town following the dragon/stone giant attack. Bryak could be communicating with Arkin magically, giving them advice, etc. I guess it would depend on how much time you'd expect us to stay in Sandpoint for the rest of the campaign, as they would be a resource that we could draw upon pretty heavily any time we came back to town. Yet another option would be that they might go to Magnimar to act as a go-between of sorts, between Sandpoint and Arkin's fortress.

If we were going to do DnD again I would prefer to start a new campaign and leave this on the back burner until Sal or/& Chaddy are able to make it again.

Angus does not mind. :)

Re: New Beginnings - Angus by ConnorsConnors, 22 Jun 2017 10:27

Sometimes people feel a little 'out of it' joining new campaigns, so I think Aido has as big a say as anyone. If we go new, this is still here in the BG for the day Chaddy & Sal come ;)

If a new campaign, I am cool with that. Plz don't go on about preparation on my part. I am not prepped for this campaign either. (And to be honest we are reaching levels I rarely GM and I was not overly inspired by 2nd half of adventure path. But we don't have to follow and you might want to try these levels.)

I am seriously fine with either and just want players to state exactly what they want to do. :)

Starting a New Game by ConnorsConnors, 22 Jun 2017 10:26

So, if we start this up I would not want new players having to play Chaddy & Sal's (and then if Chaddy & Sal show hand them back).

We are at a very easy place to say goodbye to those PCs (with every chance of them reappearing in the future). Right now, the dwarf ranger of Shane's has been sent to find Arkin, and find him he has. With his cousin Grontwin's death, he may well feel obligated to return to Janderhoff and make a report. Kathra could go along to see the magnificent city of her kind.

That leaves them open for a later return, but we could continue with campaign.

It would mean Aidan would need to do a PC and get up to speed. Angus is happy to play Orrik (he loves playing Orrik).

Cranking Up Again by ConnorsConnors, 22 Jun 2017 10:21

OK, Shane and Aido have both expressed playing some 5E to me in the last conversations I had. I tht of running a one-off to scratch that itch, but we all know those are not really fulfilling and we already know how to play 5E.

So, I was thinking of a new campaign… then I recalled we are already playing a 5E game ;)

It seems Chaddy and Sal are not going to be making any games ATM, so… 2 ideas:

A> We start this up again. (See next post for how I would go about this).
OR
B> We start a new 5E campaign.

Now as you all know, I am fine with ditching and starting anew. That will not bother me and will be no less planning than continuing this. But, as players, it is up to you. If YOU really want to continue this campaign, then let's do it.

New Beginnings by ConnorsConnors, 22 Jun 2017 10:04

Well i kind of thought it would be a ancestral/slur nickname for those dwarves who live mostly above/outside the stronghold who seemingly pound the ground as they walk on top of it (almost as if they were trying to get back into it) rather than through it in the halls/tunnels that other dwarves do.

Hey Shano, I know you have worked on a 5E version of Antonio. Any chance you could post that up ASAP? I would like to have a look at it ;) (Still chasing Dwarf archer stuff too, so I can create his own Forum - I don't even know his name).
